Weekend Update - User Controls and Presentation

We are supposed to deliver User Controls and Presentation working the best we an this Wednesday. We have implemented walking (the first tech prototype had this), an healthbar, cards and item-pick controls (using placeholder sprites because we're waiting for the animated sprites from the artists) and a pause screen.

The only thing that's left to implement in the controls is the "holding" control that would show the item description while pausing the game and the "use-item" mechanism, which doesn't make sense right now because we don't have the monsters and colliders implemented yet to take the damage or the animations to implement, but we and the artists are working on it.

Stay tuned! We're working hard to bring you the best experience we can :)

READY!

We are officially ready for the MOJO, which is happening in a few hours! We wanted to have implemented some more features, such as the sounds and the whistle action, but unfortunately we did not have time. However, the game seems to be pretty fun to play and people that we are showing this and letting them play actually like it! Let's go! See you tomorrow @MOJO! ~ evoll ~

João (evoll) presentation

Hello! My name is João (nickname: evoll) and I will be one of the game developers, alongside with my colleagues. I am Portuguese and I live in Sintra. I am currently pursuing my (MEIC) Master's Degree in Cybersecurity and possibly Games now, so I've chosen to do the Game Development Methodology course. I hope to learn more about how to make good games that captivate people and make them want more of it in the end! I've done the BrainHex test (available at http://survey.ihobo.com/BrainHex/ ) and my result was Conqueror-Achiever , as shown in the image below: A description of every class can be found in this link, just search for "BrainHex Classes" in the right tab and you'll find it: https://blog.brainhex.com/ Furthermore, I would like to announce that we will be having a new group member soon, so stay tuned for our new posts! ~ evoll ~

MOJO

This week we were at the MOJO event! People got to play our game and everyone seemed to enjoy it which was fun to see! It was also nice to try out the other group's games and see what they had done. //Melanie
